Leaked: BlackBerry Torch 9800 OS 6.0.0.246

The last OS leak for the Torch 9800 wasn’t that long ago, yet there is another one. Good news for Torch owners, it seems as if RIM is working on keeping the device’s OS up to date. This leak is OS 6.0.0.246, the previous version was 6.0.0.225.

Bell delays Torch 9800 launch

Bad news for Bell Mobility customers waiting on the BlackBerry Torch 9800: The launch has been pushed back to October 1st. While this only represents a week-long delay, we still have to wonder what prompted the change. Logical thinking suggests it’s likely a supply or software issue, and is almost certainly something relatively minor (after all, it’s only a week). Assuming no further delays, you’ll be able to pick up the Torch on October 1st for $199.95 on a 3-year term (still can’t get over those outrages contracts) or $599.95 off contract.

Moby Dick as told by a BlackBerry Torch user

Moby Dick Blackberry Torch

When it comes to commercials, iPhone and Android may have outrun RIM and BlackBerry, yet I always was a fan of the typical BlackBerry commercials. Since the Torch launched on AT&T we’ve seen a couple of fresh commercials and now there’s another one, this time telling the story of Moby Dick. I really like the commercial, it’s not the usual but it shows off the device and does a good job in showing the capabilities of BlackBerry 6 on the Torch 9800. Really, I wish we had commercials like this in Germany, I feel like we only get the most boring commercials ever made. Feel free to leave a comment, I’d love to hear what’s your favorite BlackBerry commercial.
Enough of the talk already, go on and watch it yourself:

AT&T Marketing seems to be getting the point in new BlackBerry Torch commercial

TorchCommercial

Congratulations to the good folks in marketing over at AT&T. It seems as though someone has actually done their research on RIM and realized that the BlackBerry is in fact a business smartphone. As featured in the newest release in the slew of commercials from AT&T, the BlackBerry Torch is sold as a business device putting together plans for a fashion show. The device is seen sending e-mails (that goes without saying), viewing item forecast presentations on a slide-show to-go app, and receiving sales orders through Gmail. Lets not forget the smooth multi-touch WebKit browser.

Vodafone and the 9800 bring you a romantic comedy

VodafoneAd

We’ve all grown accustomed to BlackBerry ads having the tendency to lack a ‘fun-ness’ to them.  They’re rather bland and boring, but Vodafone has just put out a commercial that speaks for itself. It’s definitely one that we can all relate with, and may make you chuckle a little bit. It’s good to see that ads are starting to trend in a more positive way. Give it a watch and let us know what you think of it!

BlackBerry Torch in new colors making their way to AT&T?

att-galaxy-tab-torch-colors

It seems as if AT&T is bringing some new edge to the torch by way of 3 possible new colors. A red/black, white, and olive selection of devices are said to be released in November, just in time for the holidays. This should be music to the ears of the those leftover BlackBerry enthusiasts, as well as tho who may just have been waiting for a new color. It’s been surprising to see how many devices have seen good/better sales simply because of the color (or a new one for that matter). Are new colors more likely to make you consider a the Torch? Or is it simply about whats under the hood? Sound off in the comments.

Rogers begins training for BlackBerry Torch 9800

Samsung-Captivate-RogersTraining

It’s rather short, but as you know brevity is the soul of wit. Rogers is going to be launching the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 24, so they’re starting online training for their sales staff.

If you’re on Rogers, then watch out for the Torch 9800 heading your way. The Torch 9800 has a 5 megapixel camera, 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen as well as a QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, pretty much everything you’ll need, of course featuring BlackBerry 6.

O2 next in line for a BlackBerry Torch release?

O2UKTorchRelease

With the release of a inside document, it seems that Vodafone will not be the only UK mobile service provider with the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on their line up. If rumors are true, O2 has a slated release date of October 4th for the device. As far as pricing goes, there hasn’t been any word on that yet, but I’m sure it will just about match whatever Vodafone’s is. I doubt O2 would pass up the opportunity to feature the handset, even more than that, let Vodafone be one up on them. With that being said, the Euroheads across the pond should have something promising to look forward to this fall.
