BlackBerry Curve 3G coming to WIND Mobile confirmed

Remember the BlackBerry Curve 3G showing up on the WIND Mobile website even though it didn’t belong to the actual line up? Well, now the device has shown up in WIND Mobile’s inventory system. There are two listings, so there’s going to be two colors available. The guys from BGR assumed that there will be a gray or black and something a little more brighter available. No words or information on pricing or an actual release date yet.

Is anyone of you already waiting for the device to hit the carrier?

BlackBerry Curve 3G coming to WIND mobile?

Good news for some of our Canadian readers out there! WIND Mobile outed the BlackBerry Curve 3G as one of their upcoming devices via their own website. If the information on the WIND Mobile BlackBerry download page is correct, we will see the Curve 3G pop up sometime soon. They posted OS 5.0.0.977 for the BlackBerry Curve 3G, which doesn’t even show up in their current line up. It’s kind of funny to see the OS before the device.

If you’re in Canada and catch onto some news, make sure to let us know!

Verizon preparing for BlackBerry 6 launch?

Good news for everyone on Verizon Wireless! It looks just like Verizon is getting ready for an update to BlackBerry 6. It’s coming to the Bold 9650 and the Curve 3G for sure but it’s not yet known when Verizon decides to update, but now it seems they’re getting closer to an actual release.

This was discovered by some people running the previously leaked OS 6.0.0.280 that were asked to update their Email Setup Application. It also seems this is only happening when you’re setting up a new BIS email account. Did anyone of you come across this as well?

Update For Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Curve 3G 9300 Provides UMA Support

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Rogers

Back on the 14th, Canadian carrier, Rogers, updated their BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Curve 3G 9300 smartphones with UMA support. For those of us who use Rogers as their mobile provider, this is a big deal. The updates are OS v5.0.0.846 and v5.0.0.862 respectively. UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) support allows users to make voice calls over a Wi-Fi network. The result is a positive one; users utilize Wi-Fi networks to make calls, saving minutes, and as a result, saving money on their monthly cell phone bill – the one “side-affect” of our pocket companions.

For the updates, click here and follow the detailed instructions provided. If you have UMA enabled already, let us know how you’re loving the Wi-Fi call ability.

Vodafone UK to release pay-as-you-go BlackBerrys

After o2, Vodafone UK is going to release a BlackBerry for pay-as-you-go, the Curve 9300 in red, of course. Along with the Curve 9300 there will be the Pearl 3G 9105 and the Curve 8520. I’m pretty happy about hearing more an more carriers throughout the world starting to add BlackBerrys to their pay-as-you-go plans, still I couldn’t find any here in Germany yet.

On vodafone.co.uk it says “Cooming soon”, make sure to register here if you want to know when it becomes available. According to BBLeaks the pay-as-you-go BlackBerrys should become available some time in October.

BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 updated to 5.0.0.912 in Eastern Asia

Pups, we’ve had an eventful last few days with a doggie dish full of OS leaks and updates.  Today is no different as we see the Curve 9300 updated to OS 5.0.0.912 in Eastern Asia as per BlackBerry’s website.  You can download the official OS here.  With a 6.0 leak emerging for the 9300 not too long ago, we can only hope that this is only a temporary update to address bug fixes before the expected BlackBerry 6 update.

Sprint to get Curve 9300 on Sept 26 with BlackBerry 6 upgrade to follow

BlackBerryCurve9300

If you’ve been following BBerryDog, you know that yesterday brought news of Big Red bringing the Curve 9300 in to replace the 8530 (and if you didn’t read that article, click here!).  Sprint seems to have taken the same route, as the Curve 9300 will now be making a CDMA appearance on both major CDMA networks.

The 9300 sports the 512MB built-in memory that is necessary for BlackBerry 6, so we can expect an update in 2011.  If you’re a Sprint customer and plan to buy this, let us know!  If you’re going to give it a miss, tell us what you’d like to see for the fast approaching holiday season.

RIM and Verizon announce new Curve 3G 9300 in two hot colors

bb-curve-3g-vzw

Earlier today, RIM and Verizon Wireless announced a new BlackBerry Curve 3G model. The 9300 series will be coming to Verizon in two new, snazzy, metallic colors. The new model will be available for only $29.99 after $100.00 mail-in rebate. As with all ‘Berrys, there is a required data package, but the packages are reasonable and are well worth it. The Curve 3G will sport the following features, most of which we are all familiar with:

  • A full QWERTY keyboard for fast, comfortable typing, as well as an optical trackpad for effortless navigation
  • Mobile access to RIM’s renowned e-mail services, as well as instant messaging applications such as the popular BlackBerry Messenger service
  • Access to BlackBerry App World, featuring a broad and growing catalog of third-party mobile applications developed specifically for BlackBerry smartphones
  • 2.0 MP camera with zoom and video recording
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS
  • Advanced media player for music and videos, dedicated media keys, and a microSD/SDHC card slot for expandable memory up to 32GB
  • Long lasting battery
  • Ships with BlackBerry 5, and is BlackBerry 6 ready

Verizon’s release claims to have longer lasting battery, we’ll see how good the battery is soon. Unfortunately, the 9330 ships with BlackBerry 5, but is BlackBerry 6 ready. The device will be available on September 16th online, and will be in Verizon stores in the coming weeks. Who is going to get one of these bad boys? Are you a fan of the Curve series, or are you hoping and praying something like the Torch will come to Verizon in the coming months?
