Gowalla is another location based service (LBS) app very popular among iPhone, Android, and webOS users that is now making the the jump over to BlackBerry. Due to the recent success of Foursquare, Gowalla is looking to cash in and get its piece of the mobile pie. Like other LBS apps, Gowalla lets you check-in to various establishments, collecting rewards along the way. The app allows users to share whyour locations with friends over Facebook, Twitter, and Gowalla’s own social network. Since the application is still in Beta, you can expect it to be missing some of the more refined features of an app like this.

Not only good for the user, it also gives business owners valuable recognition among consumers, while providing incentives (coupons/freebies) to drive more business. This has definitely become a revolutionary advertising tool that businesses can take advantage of.
