A few days ago had announced that some improvements were coming to BlackBerry Messenger soon, any when they said soon, they meant it. This morning a new Facebook application was launched enabling you to customize your barcode and to post it on your Facebook wall to share with your friends.

While this isn’t a huge improvement and it isn’t a whole lot of news, they kept their word. All of this could have been done without the Facebook application, but I suppose it makes it easier for people to share their barcode with their friends, and teaches the many people who don’t even know about the barcode what it is and what it’s for.

Here’s the message as they had posted on Facebook a few days ago:

There are some exciting things coming for BlackBerry Messenger in the days (and weeks!) ahead. Make sure you have the latest version of BBM so that you can be a part of it!

I just hope that when they say this, they have something a little more exciting that a barcode customizer in store for us. If you want to customize your barcode, click here.
