I just went into an official T-Mobile store and was told that they could not fix my trackball because of my insurance. They told me I had to make a claim and pay the $130.00 for a replacement phone. So, is T-Mobile NOT replacing trackballs? I asked and they said no... :(

Does the replacement apply only to phones still under warranty? Does it require an extended contract commitment? My TMO 8320 Curve was purchased in Aug 08 but my contract has expired. Given the talk about DT's plans to dump or sell or merge TMO I am reluctant to renew a contract. I have 5 8320's in my family.
