I just upgraded last night and here's my 2 cents:

- I have had the 8530 for almost a month as a new Sprint customer, and prior to the update, internet access was horribly slow. Whether it's bringing up a web page, or checking email using the Gmail mobile app, any operations that require internet access was painfully slow. So much so that I had serious regret leaving the Tmo Edge network.

- After the upgrade (which I put on last night), internet access was fast and snappy - just as I had expected Sprint EVDO network to be. However, I noticed that battery life has taken a fairly steep dive. Just in little over 5 hours, the battery usage went down about 50%. Prior to the upgrade I could run the phone for almost 2 days without a charge.

So here's my impression of t e upgrade. Hope this helps other users deciding what to do
