Video of new BlackBerry “Magnum” prototype

The guys over at thecellularguru.com have put up a video of the new prototype from RIM called the Magnum.  They released pictures a few weeks ago, and this video proves that the pictures weren’t fake.  This is like RIMs crossover device, a mix between the traditional QWERTY keyboard and the new SurePress technology introduced with the Storm.  The Magnum looks a lot like the original Bold 9000, with a few minor changes.  Not sure about the hardware inside the phone but physically almost the same with the addition of Micro USB and removal of the trackball.  I am curious to know if the screen is going to be like the original Storm, with the one button under the screen or like the new Storm2 which uses Piezo technology.  What does everyone think about this video?  Would you buy a BlackBerry that had a full QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen?

  1. Nice video. I’m not the biggest fan of SurePress and feel it might be useless on this device. Bold 9700 still reigns supreme IMO.

    • I agree i don’t think a full tactile keyboard plus a SurePress screen would be a very good combination at all.
