For me, SurePress is only annoying for texting, but for navigation it's great (even for full-qwerty devices). I just don't enjoy SurePress when I'm typing a lot of stuff at once. I always wished that SurePress on the Storm/Storm2 was limited to navigation and was disabled for text input.

Thus, I think that SurePress can be useful on a full-qwerty device because the touch-portion would be used for navigation, not text input.

I have been waiting for this phone for so long. They should definitely add the trackpad. I don't really like the idea of it being designed after the bold. I always pictured the Magnum/Dakota sharing a similar design to the Tour. The Tour has a considerable size that would look good with a touchscreen. I agree that the SurePress is obsolete. Anyways, only time will tell.

I think their kind of copying WinMo on this device.. I mean if you think about other front-facing touch screen qwerty phones, you get: Samsung Epix, Samsung, Samsung, etc. and they all carry WinMo with them. Not be mean, I think it's a good idea, but maybe a little too much. I hope at least they include a track ball/pad with it. Good Luck, Blackberry.

Am I the only one that doesn't like this setup? I like the qwerty keyboard with no touchscreen. My 9700 is the perfect size and setup. I hope they make more devices like that.

It is time for RIM to try something new and actually make it work well on the first try. While this should be a decent evolution of their QWERTY line I think it is a new form factor that they are in need of. HTC and Lenovo seem to get that...try something new, please.

Well its not that I don't like the technology behind SurePress, I just feel this tech should be used in tablet computers and POS systems, and I don't believe it is suitable for cell phones. The combo phone would be just fine with a regular touchscreen and trackpad.
