I am constantly finding myself not caring to check my phone every time it vibrates or makes a noise. Sure, I like to see what type of messages I have received, but I don’t always want to pull my phone out, take it out of standby, then finally see whether I got a new BBM message, email, text, or anything else for that matter. BerryBuzz speeds up the process and enables me to determine whether I should view my messages instantly, or whether I can let them wait.

BerryBuzz, also known as BeBuzz in BlackBerry App World, is a very cool app that helps you customize the BlackBerry’s unique and very effective notification system; it is also a very useful tool. By color coordinating all of your notifications, all you have to do is look at your phone, whether it be in standby, in a holster, or wherever your BlackBerry may be, as long as it is in eyeshot and you aren’t colorblind, you will be able see what you have received.

Some might ask, “Isn’t this what your BlackBerry Profiles are for?” I usually leave my phone on vibrate only, and there are a lot of situations that many people would need their phones silenced. In this case, notification sound profiles aren’t very useful.

Not only does BerryBuzz come with a decent sized list of preset colors, but it also comes with the option to customize the LED colors. If there is a preset color that is not quite the color you were looking for, you can tweak your own colors on a HUE scroll bar.

BerryBuzz also give the option to repeat notifications. This becomes very useful when your emails and other messages are time sensitive. If you miss a notification, you set BerryBuzz to repeat a missed notification to several different time intervals. One big complaint from BlackBerry users across the board is the lack of the ability to have the phone vibrate and ring at the same time. BerryBuzz also offers the solution to this problem. Amongst being able to customize the LED notification colors, you can also customize your phones vibrate pattern for phone calls. You can set it as short bursts of vibrations, one long vibration, or customize it to your liking.

BerryBuzz is probably one of my favorite applications for my BlackBerry and is usually the first thing I purchase when I get a new phone. You can pick it up from the Mobihand App Store or App World for $5.95. It is an application that is well worth the money.
