New pictures of the BlackBerry Tour2 9650 surface

In the clearest pictures seen on the internet to date, BGR has taken an up-close look at the BlackBerry Tour2 (Essex) 9650.  Here is what they found:

  • The keyboard is still great, despite the removal of space for the trackpad.
  • The phone is snappier than the original Tour, and no slowdowns have been reported.
  • Physical size is almost (if not exactly) the same size as the Tour 9630.
  • Wi-Fi works well.

For those that purchased the Tour when it first came out, how do you feel about this device launching in the immediate future?

  1. I’m absolutely ecstatic about the new phone being launched, yet at the same time extremely annoyed. I purchased my tour just a few weeks ago. No track ball issues with my model over the past month, but the addition of the optical track pad and wifi would have been more than welcome. Especially considering the epic fail of yesterday regarding the inability to access any data services. Hopefully with the contract change I can talk my way into having my account marked “contract fulfilled.”

    • You cant put a trackpad where a trackball is. Because you cant fit a square into a circle especially when the circle is smaller than the square.

  2. Hmmmmm… when does this come out? I’m due for a new phone Jan 4th and I can wait for maybe a week… haha. But this upgrade looks really nice.
